Pneumatic Controls Workshop

Minimize
Course Description:
This five-day course begins with the basics of pneumatic controls.  The function, application and service of air-supply systems, including compressors, air dryers, pressure reducing valves, and storage tanks are discussed and maintenance procedures are identified.  Pneumatic control system components including thermostats, relays, switches, valves and dampers are identified and their operation is explained.  During hands-on lab exercises, the student will connect pneumatic components to create a control sequence  similar to actual field automatic temperature control systems.  Single-input receiver controllers and dual-input receiver controllers are set up and calibrated.  Reset schedules, proportional band settings, and authority settings are discussed and set up on receiver controllers.  Calibration, adjustment and troubleshooting procedures will be identified for different manufacturers' transmitters and controllers.  Valve maintenance and repair procedures are demonstrated.

Intended Audience:
Individuals who have either a limited background in HVAC controls or want to expand their knowledge of pneumatic control systems.  Many service tasks are simple and easy to perform.  Our Pneumatic Controls Workshops are designed to enable individuals to service at a basic level, to troubleshoot and identify problems and to maintain pneumatic control systems.
